  • Graham Bishop (independent consultant,

  • Hans Hack (senior managing director, FTI Consulting)

Sorry I am a bit late with this one. (There have been changes at CSFI Towers, but that is not a very good excuse.)

Arguably, now we have a better idea of what Mrs. May means by ‘Brexit’ – as well as a better sense of the timing she has in mind. What we don’t have that good a handle on yet is how Brussels is going to respond – and, by Brussels I mean the Council (with Tusk and Didier Seeuws), the Commission (with Barnier), the Parliament etc. For that, I am delighted to be able to lean on our old friend Hans Hack, now a senior MD at FTI Consulting in Brussels, who has over 14 years’ experience of reading the European runes.

As always, though, our principal guide will be Graham Bishop, of – who (I hope) has subordinated his natural affinity for all things European to the eternal search for truth and light. He is also a reminder that, whatever we might read, we are not yet out of the EU – and that there is a ton of Level One and Level Two directives and regulations which the City needs to be cognizant of.

This will be the 123rd meeting of our little group – and its relevance continues regardless of the debate in Westminster.
