FinTech for Breakfast (35)
Held on Wednesday, November 15, 2018
With support from Dentons
Jemima Kelly (FT Alphaville)
Peter Stephens (DrumG)
Our regular shepherd through all things FinTech, Jemima Kelly (of FT Alphaville) will be back with us for the November session – and it looks like it will be as busy as ever.
The BoE, FCA, and Treasury have issued their joint ‘Cryptoassets Taskforce’ report, laying out the UK’s policy and regulatory approach to crypto and DLT, and both DTCC and Deutsche Börse had announcements on their respective DLT trials.
Berkshire Hathaway has taken a couple of positions in emerging markets payments, while two separate reports on UK payments concluded that contactless cards are leading the market (with mobile payments still slow to catch on).
And the glitterati of the FinTech world are on their way back from Sydney, after a Sibos dominated by data, AI and security.
Joining Jemima to help make sense of it all we are pleased to welcome Peter Stephens, the (as of this week) CIO at DrumG Technologies. Pete has spent two decades in banking IT, most recently as Head of Blockchain and UK Group Innovation at UBS, and has taken the plunge to help start-up DrumG bring DLT to the OTC derivatives market.
Anyway, as usual, this is a caring and sharing experience – so please do share your thoughts on agenda with firstname.lastname@example.org, or register for the event by calling 0207 621 1056 or emailing email@example.com. Thanks to Dentons, I can promise excellent coffee and buns.
