FinTech for Breakfast (30)
Held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018
With support from Dentons
Jemima Kelly (FT Alphaville)
A change of pace for our FinTech group… Over the past year we’ve had FinTech investors (David Galbraith, Richard Wazacz), entrepreneurs (Dylan Bourguignon, Romi Savova), board execs (Jeff Lynn, Shaun Port), consultants (Octavio Marenzi, Winston Yong), even FinTech policy wonks, all usually guided by a regular industry commentator.
This month, I am delighted to welcome back our old friend (and CSFI Technology Fellow) Dave Birch – a founder of (and currently director of innovation for) Consult Hyperion, author of Before Babylon, Beyond Bitcoin, board advisor to Qiwi and BankiFi, and visiting professor at the University of Surrey – to lead proceedings.
If Dave’s Twitter stream is anything to go by, we can look forward to the very latest in thinking on data sharing, privacy, identity management, payments, some cryptocurrency follies and even some promising uses for blockchain. (And possibly some non-league football).
Dave won’t have things all his own way: we also are delighted to welcome back Jemima Kelly, recently of Reuters and now covering the FinTech beat for FT Alphaville, to add her perspective on the latest stories breaking in the sector.
As always, this is a caring and sharing experience. If you want to add your own views to the mix, so much the better; if you just want to listen, that’s fine too. Whatever, if you (or a friend/colleague) would like to join us, please let us know by calling 0207 621 1056 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks to Dentons’s hospitality, there will be lots of tea, coffee and buns.
